Club History

The Mile High Rottweiler Club of Greater Denver (MHRC) held its first annual meeting in May of 1988. The initial mission of forming the club was to bring together Colorado fanciers who were showing and breeding Rottweilers and to educate the public about our dogs. MHRC is a Code of Ethics club and follows the Mandatory Practices established by the parent club, The American Rottweiler Club (ARC). The Mandatory Practices may be viewed and downloaded from https://www.amrottclub.org/about-the-american-rottweiler-club/mandatory-practices/.

The formation of The Mile High Rottweiler Club of Greater Denver began after the successful hosting of an ARC Regional Specialty in August 1988. The Specialty was held in conjunction with the Greeley Kennel Club All-Breed show. Since then, MHRC has hosted multiple ARC Regional Specialties, three ARC Nationals, over 30 Independent specialties, along with herding trials, carting tests, tracking tests, obedience and rally trials as well as multiple fun matches. The Club also supports the breed through supported entries with several all-breed clubs.
